This morning, I went outside like I always do. I was standing there, enjoying my coffee and the nice warm sun, when suddenly this cute little squirrel appears on my side of a tree along the fence. So of course, since I'm a lame-o, I said,"Hello, little squirrel(or something along those lines, it's getting foggy now)." He cocked his little head and moved a couple steps closer. And so I kept talking to him, all the while he keeps getting closer and closer. Finally, to my surprise, he ends up standing in between my feet on his hind legs sniffing at me. It was totally bizarre. So I held my hand out and leaned down, expecting him to take off, but he didn't. He grabbed my fingers in between his little paws and started giving me little love bites! So now I was thinking, oh God, this squirrel's got rabies! Lol. Of course, he didn't. He probably thought I had food. That was Tara's suggestion when I told her about it. Poor little thing was missing the bushy part of his tail, and so her idea is that he was probably fostered by someone and he's already established a connection with humans. And here I thought I was special. Just kidding. Eventually Mr. Squirrel took off to find himself some breakfast. I was just so delighted that I had to post about it... especially considering the fact that I haven't posted in a couple months. Now I've got to hunt down some nuts to leave in the backyard. Maybe I can get him to eat out of my hand. Maybe next time I'll get pictures, since he (she?) doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. I also need to come up with a name. Tara suggested Bobo...but I'm not sure....
